Rev Milton N. Popp, 95, was called to be with the Lord Jesus from his home in Lake Montezuma, Arizona on February 28, 2017.  Rev Popp is survived by his wife of 70 years, Aida, their six children, Christi Tallent from Collingswood, NJ, David Popp (Catherine Williams) from Orange, CT, Cheryl Buffington from St. Louis, MO, Daniel Popp (Debbie Livingston) from Austin, TX, Stephanie Christensen (Chris) from West Lafayette, IN, and Kathleen Newman (Jeff) from Phoenix, AZ, and ten grandchildren, Justin Tallent (Cailin), Matthew Popp, Abbey Louis (Nick), Christine Popp, Kaleena Newman, Nathan Christensen, Bradley Newman, Rebekah Christensen, Hannah Christensen, and Elise Newman, and his sister, Mary Jane Miller from St. Louis, MO.

Rev Popp was born in Perryville, MO to William and Paula (Frentzel) Popp.  During WWll Milton served in the US Army from 1940 to 1945 with the Aleutian Islands Campaign and was awarded the Bronze Star. After returning from five years of missionary work in Japan, Milton was a Lutheran minister in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at Holy Cross Lutheran Church from 1956 to1962, and at the Lutheran Center Campus Ministry, at the University of Alabama from 1962 to 1970.  He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club and the Alabama chapter of the Civil Air Patrol.  In 1970 he started his service with the Veterans Administration Hospital as a protestant chaplain in Danville, Illinois, and then Tucson, and Prescott, Arizona.  Milton continued his service with the Kiwanis Club and became an active member of the Senior Olympics.  After retirement in Lake Montezuma, Arizona, he and Aida volunteered with the British Columbia Mission boat at various towns along the coast, and taught English in Japan, Macau, and Hong Kong.  He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who Milton touched with his love, guidance, and faith.  And we look forward to seeing him again one day in heaven.

Services will be held at Stygar Funeral Home in Florissant, MO on Friday, March 10th.  Visitation begins at 10:00am, with a service at 11:00am, followed by interment at Jefferson Barracks at 1:00pm.

Our deepest sympathy to Aida and family at loss of our dear friend and fellow worshiper, Pastor Popp. His strong faith in our Lord and Savior was a testament to us all. He will be greatly missed by his church family at Grace Lutheran Church, Rimrock, AZ. Rest in peace.
