Jerry R. Hofmann

Jerry R. Hofmann, 78, passed away November 26, 2016.
The beloved son of the late Howard and Ruth Hofmann (nee Dennis); three children were born to his union to Sharon Hofmann (nee Yowell) and they survive, Steven (Scott Allen) Hofmann of Chicago, IL, Stacey (Dana) Currier of St. Charles, MO, and Jennifer (Billy) Cooper of Springfield, IL; loved grandfather of Justin Hofmann, Lauren Hein, Jacob Currier, Zach (Bridget) Currier, and Katelyn Currier; great-grandfather to Landon Currier; dear brother of Jane (Richard) Packer and the late Jimmy Hofmann. Jerry was also preceded in death by his special aunt, Helen Hofmann Walsh, and beloved aunt and uncle, Bernice and Raymond Long. 
A graduate of Danville High School (1956) and Eastern Illinois University (BS, 1982), he worked at Esco Corporation (Danville, IL) for almost 20 years, then Hyster (Danville, IL) and FMC Corporation (Hoopeston, IL). He later pursued other opportunities in both Colorado and Texas, before returning to the Midwest. Jerry enjoyed hunting and golf—but his passion was fishing. He was an avid fisherman for most of his life, belonging to the Illini Bass Club and participating in numerous fishing tournaments.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Springhill Cemetery in Danville, IL.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to the National Stroke Association.
