Anne Lynette Kinzie

Died: January 20, 2017

Anne Lynette Kinzie, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. Coincidentally, Friday was also the celebration of her 70th birthday. A loving mother, grandmother, an energetic wife of two great men and a woman that lived to make others smile and happy during her seventy years of life – will be missed in many memories. Her story begins in the small town of California, Mo where she was born on January 20, 1947, the proud daughter of Edna Mae Russell.  Anne grew up in the Florissant area, where she went to school and graduated from McClure high school in 1965.  After high school she attended college in Kirksville.  She married her high school sweetheart Duane Curry at First Baptist Church in Ferguson on August 26, 1967.  Together they had two sons, David and Michael.  Anne and her family lived in the St. Louis area for many years up until 1987. She enjoyed being involved in her children’s lives over the years by being the neighborhood mother to her boys and their neighborhood friends.  She was also involved with her sons’ sports and as a daughter of a teacher, always involved in school grades and activities.  She sold AVON products for many years in Florissant, where she became a trusted advisor to many women and along the way, made good friends with many people. Anne enjoyed planning family vacations that included trips to Cobblestone Lodge in Steelville, the music down in Branson as well as trips to Clearwater Beach Florida.  One exciting family trip was to Hollywood, California in 1986, where she became a contestant on “The Price is Right”.  Not only did she win a prize to get up on the stage and kiss Bob Barker, but she also won $10,000 on the “Punch Game”. Anne enjoyed spending time with many friends – taking trips to Vegas with couples, playing cards, hosting Friday evening gatherings playing board games.  She and Duane spent Sunday evening together, bowling in a league at Hazelwood Bowl.  They also enjoyed taking dance lessons so they could show off their moves during special occasions.  Anne and Duane had many wonderful years together, however time came where they parted as friends.

Anne met and married Jerry Kinzie in 2001. With Jerry, she enjoyed taking trips to see her sons and their family who had relocated to New England.  Her loving nature overflowed with her grandchildren, Ethan, Aidan and Joshua.  Never missing a birthday call to them or having the chance to enjoy the holiday’s in New England.

Anne is survived by her sons, David – his wife Beth and their son Joshua and Michael – his wife Jennifer and their sons Ethan and Aiden.
